*김 교수팀은 서울대 김재정 교수, 현택환 교수, 포항공대 한정우 교수팀과 공동연구를 진행해 고성능·고안정성의 아산화질소 분해촉매 개발에 성공했다.
 
*김 교수는 금으로 나노입자를 만들고 나노입자의 표면에 팔라듐 원자층을 만드는 ‘코어쉘(core-shell) 구조’를 고안하고, 표면 원자층 두께를 최적화함으로써 외부 에너지소모 없이 팔라듐촉매에 인장력을 가해 촉매 활성과 안정성을 높인 새로운 촉매를 개발했다.
 
*이번 연구는 새로운 촉매설계 방법론을 제시함으로써 실험에 필요한 시간과 비용을 줄이고 연구효율을 높였다는 점에서 큰 의의를 가진다.
 
*이번 연구는 촉매분야 세계적 권위지인 「ACS Catalysis」지 12월호에 표지논문으로 게재돼 연구의 우수성을 인정받았다. (논문명 : Systematic Approach to Design of Highly Efficient Core-Shell Electrocatalysts for N2O Reduction)
